'Accused' OTT Release: When And Where To Watch The Psychological Drama Starring Konkona Sen Sharma

Konkona Sen Sharma is one of the most renowned Indian actors and filmmakers. She is known for her extensive work in the Bengali and Hindi film industries for more than 2 decades. Well, fans of Konkona are in a celebratory mood after realising that her brand new drama is about to drop in just a few days. Yes, you read that right! Her much-awaited psychological drama, Accused, will be available for viewers to watch on Netflix India from February 27, 2026.

What is the plot of Konkona Sen Sharma’s Accused?

Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, Accused is a Poland-based drama. The plot of the psychological drama revolves around the life of Konkona Sen Sharma’s character, ‘Doctor Geetika’s’. She is the youngest Head of Department at a well-known hospital. In addition to that, she’s also a celebrated LGBTQ gynaecologist who has her eyes set on becoming the Dean.

However, as the story progresses, her life and career begin to unravel unexpectedly. This is because she is suddenly charged with a series of serious se*ual misconduct allegations. As the public’s and authorities’ suspicions towards her grow, viewers are kept on the edge of their seats, trying to figure out what is true and what isn’t. Amid all this, ‘Doctor Geetika’s’ marriage also seems to be in a predicament.

Accused

Based on the teaser of Accused, which dropped earlier this month, in February 2026, the public opinion about ‘Dr. Geetika’ changed rather quickly. At the start, she was recognised by the medical board as well as her fellow colleagues for her “stellar record.” However, after the anonymous allegations about her came to the surface, ‘Dr. Geetika’ is labelled a “se*ual predator”. As the focus increases on the emotional impact of her relationships, ‘Dr. Geetika’s’ wife will have to face an extremely difficult choice: to stand by the person she loves but is hated by others, or give in to the pressures from outside forces.

Themes explored in Accused

Well, according to the production crew of the psychological drama, Accused is an investigation of power and ethical grey areas, with many layers to it. According to reports online, the makers of the film issued a formal statement claiming that it will explore the complex themes of power, perception, and moral ambiguity. However, they will only be approached with a personal, relatable perspective. It is worth noting that the cast of the film is also well-suited to handle the same.

Accused

Accused is written and directed by Anubhuti Kashyap. It is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment. In the leading roles of the film, we will see the talented Kankona Sen Sharma and Pratibha Ranta. Cinephiles are eagerly awaiting Accused’s OTT release so they can witness the full extent of the duo’s chemistry and talents, which we already got a glimpse of in the teaser. In supporting yet important roles, Accused will feature actors, Aditya Nanda and Sukant Goel.

Accused

The reason why Accused is garnering attention ahead of its global release

Netflix’s 2026 lineup might have a lot of amazing films; however, according to industry analysts, what makes Accused stand apart from all the rest is its character-driven suspense. This is even more the case as it shows a queer protagonist trying to navigate a crisis in the workplace. Watching the film, Accused, will definitely make viewers ponder how society rushes to build narratives before facts are properly established, especially when courtroom drama cliches are at play.
