Dashcam footage has revealed the terrifying moment a motorcyclist crashed into stopped traffic and was sent flying from his bike in Perth.

Police say two motorcycles were riding together at excessive speed northbound on Wanneroo Rd in Greenwood about 3.44pm on Monday, February 16.

A short time later, the black Honda motorcycle and blue Suzuki motorcycle encountered stationary traffic approaching Daley St.

The riders began lane splitting when one of them lost control and struck the other.

“The impact caused both riders to collide with several stationary vehicles before being thrown onto the road,” WA Police said.

The rider of the Honda – a man aged in 30s – sustained serious injuries and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for emergency surgery.

The Suzuki rider fled the scene, police said, with investigators now appealing to the public to identify him.

He was last seen entering a vacant block of land leading into Smallman Crescent.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
