Toss Australia chose to field vs India
Hamilton, 19, made her international debut in the final ODI against India and finished with none for 46 in nine overs. With Kim Garth ruled out with a quad injury, Hamilton was given the nod over uncapped quick Maitlan Brown and she received her baggy green from wicketkeeper-batter Beth Mooney.
Perry has recovered from the quad strain that ruled her out of the ODI leg but won’t bowl.
India will need a first Test victory in Australia if they are to draw the multi-format series after a demoralising 3-0 defeat in the ODI leg.
India did win the last Test match played between the teams when they claimed a historic eight-wicket victory at Wankhede Stadium in December 2023, having been unsuccessful in their previous ten attempts against Australia dating back to 1977.
After an unusually mild summer, Perth is in the grip of a heatwave with temperatures for the first two days of the match set to reach close to 40 degrees Celsius.
