The Pakistan Australia Media Association Inc. (PAMA) is an incorporated, non-profit, non-partisan association established in Australia for the purpose of promoting professional collaboration, ethical journalism, and bilateral media engagement between Pakistan and Australia.
PAMA is constituted and governed in accordance with the relevant Australian Incorporated Associations legislation and operates under an adopted Constitution that outlines its objects, governance structure, membership framework, and compliance obligations.
The Association exists exclusively for not-for-profit purposes and does not operate for the private benefit of its members.

Legal Status
Any surplus income or assets of the Association are applied solely towards the promotion of its stated objectives. No portion of income or property is distributed directly or indirectly to members, except as bona fide compensation for services rendered or expenses incurred in accordance with the Constitution.
In the event of winding up, any remaining assets will be transferred to another incorporated association or charitable organisation with similar objectives, in accordance with statutory requirements.

Governance Structure
PAMA is governed by an elected Management Committee comprising office bearers and committee members in accordance with the Association’s Constitution.
The Committee is responsible for:
- Strategic direction and policy oversight
- Financial management and reporting
- Membership administration
- Compliance with regulatory and statutory obligations
- Implementation of programs and initiatives
Office bearers are elected by members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) as prescribed under the Constitution.

Membership
Membership of PAMA is open to eligible individuals and organisations engaged in journalism, media, communications, academia, and related professional fields, subject to approval in accordance with the Constitution.
Members are entitled to participate in the governance of the Association, attend general meetings, and contribute to the advancement of the Association’s objectives.
