CM Punk addressed the possibility of facing “Demon” Finn Balor at WWE Elimination Chamber 2026. Punk will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Balor.

Punk and Balor have already crossed paths once in Belfast on Monday Night RAW, where Punk successfully defended the title against Balor. Despite the two superstars showing respect to one another, Balor had other ideas, as he had a change of heart and attacked Punk during his World Heavyweight Championship match against AJ Styles.

Speaking on No-Contest Wrestling, Punk seemed quite confident about Balor bringing out the “Demon” at Elimination Chamber. The Best In The World made a bold claim regarding himself.

“That’s cool because I’m a demon without having to wear a costume and I’m in Chicago. If anybody’s going to be a demon that night it’s going to be me.” said Punk.

CM Punk explained why he is defending the World Heavyweight Championship at Elimination Chamber 2026

CM Punk is set to put the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line at the Elimination Chamber 2026 Premium Live Event.

Speaking on ESPN’s First Take, Punk admitted that he is focused on becoming a fighting champion and said the following:

“My mindset is I am a fighting champion. I’ll put it to you like this. If a franchise sports team gets into the playoffs, they don’t stop playing the regular season games, do they? No, there’s people that buy tickets, they come to see me. I’m coming to give them a show, and they deserve a fighting champion,”

Punk is currently in his second reign as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion since returning to the company. His first reign ended at the hands of Seth Rollins, who cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Punk at SummerSlam and dethroned him immediately. Punk regained it by winning the vacant title.
